Harden My Heart: The Best Of Quarterflash

Quarterflash was a pop/rock group best known for their 1981 hit &quot;Harden My Heart&quot;. That track appeared on their critically praised eponymous debut album. The band was lead by vocalist and saxophonist Rindy Ross as well as her husband, the guitarist Marv Ross. Guitarist Jack Charles, keyboardist Rick DiGiallonardo, bassist Rich Gooch, and drummer Brian David Willis rounded out the line-up.  Initially known as &quot;Seafood Mama&quot;, the group gained a strong local following playing bars and nightclubs in Portland, Oregon.

Harden My Heart

This song was written by Portland, Oregon band &quot;Seafood Mama in 1980, before they became &quot;QuarterFlash&quot;.  A new version of the song was released after the name change and in January of 1982, it reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #1 on the Billboard Top Tracks chart. The song also reached the Top 20 in Germany and in France, though was only a very minor hit in the United Kingdom.
