La Dispute is five close friends from Grand Rapids, Michigan with a firm passion for the concept of music and art as a medium for making new friends. As a result, La Dispute makes (or strives to make) music that is both artistically, technically, and emotionally engaging in hopes of establishing legitimate connections with any and all interested people, while encouraging dialogue between those people and themselves about things in life that truly matter and that truly last.

La Dispute is a five piece band from Grand Rapids, Michigan. The band released their debut EP, &quot;Vancouver,&quot; in 2006 on Friction Records,followed by an untitled 7&quot; in 2008 on Forest Life Records, and a series of releases: &quot;Here, Hear&quot; on mini CD on Forest Life Records and &quot;Here, Hear II&quot; on 7&quot; through No Sleep Records, both in 2008. Most recently they released &quot;Here, Hear III&quot; in 2009 through digital download. 

Formed in the summer of 2004, La Dispute was inspired by the collective notion that each member enjoys the following things immensely: listening to music, playing music, and writing music. Additionally, these members (old friends, new friends, cousins, schoolmates) feel utterly incapable of achieving any level of contentment doing anything other than what they are currently doing, at least for the present time, and thus the arrangement was and is, in a sense, default.
