Formed in late 1994 Mad Season was a grunge supergroup, made up of members from Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees and Alice in Chains. Their one album, Above, was released in 1995. The band went on permanent hiatus in 1996.  The band consisted of:  Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) - vocals, guitar Mike McCready (Pearl Jam) - lead guitar John Baker Saunders (The Walkabouts) -  bass Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees) - drums and percussion

Mad Season war ein Projekt der Musiker Mike McCready (Gitarre, Pearl Jam), Layne Staley (Gesang, Alice in Chains), Barrett Martin (Schlagzeug, Screaming Trees) und John &quot;Baker&quot; Saunders (Bass, The Walkabouts).  Bandgeschichte  Mad Season entstanden am 16. Oktober 1994 aus einer Jam-Session im legendären Seattler Crocodile-Café und nahmen nur ein Album, Above, auf. Auf diesem Album ist als Gast auch Mark Lanegan, damals Sänger der Screaming Trees und später Sänger der Queens of the Stone Age zu hören.
